In an interview right after the release of her multi-platinum album ''Jagged Little Pill'', Alanis Morissette said, "No tattoos. During the last 27 years, there hasn't been one word or phrase that I felt I would be able to look at every day and think, "I still believe that." I dig the word faith. But I don't want a fucking tattoo on me that says FAITH. Yeesh!" Apparently, Alanis changed her mind later because now she has a tattoo on her left forearm that says "Gentle" in cursive script and she keeps adding to her collection with at least 5 or 6 tattoos now.

Alanis Nadine Morissette (born June 1, 1974) is a Canadian-American singer/songwriter and sometimes actress. Although she began her career as a child actress in Canada, she quickly moved on to pop stardom, recording two dance-pop albums under MCA. However, her rock-influenced ''Jagged Little Pill'' became an international hit in the late nineties. It remains the best selling debut album by a female artist in the U.S. and the highest selling debut album worldwide in music history. Through her career, she has won 16 Juno Awards, 7 Grammy Awards and sold over 60 million albums worldwide. In the past Morissette had been romantically involved with Dave Coulier and Ryan Reynolds. On May 22, 2010, Morissette married rapper Mario "MC Souleye" Treadway in a private ceremony at their Los Angeles home. Their first child, Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway, was born on December 25, 2010.
