What Do Her Tattoos Reveal About Britney Spears?

The Britney Spears Melt Down

It is not hard to understand our fascination with the foibles of celebrities.

A little air being let out of the over-inflated, over-indulged and over self-absorbed egos of celebrities usually feels like a measure of justice in an often-times unjust world.

And God knows, celebrities have the right to make terrible choices and the public and the press have the right to comment on them. All hail a free press and freedom of expression.

But there is a line that shouldn't be crossed.

Body & Soul, the Sherman Oaks tattoo shop - if you can call it that - that recently tattooed a clearly distraught Britney Spears gets our vote for having the lowest ethical standards and practices of any tattoo shop any where in the world, and that includes the third world where you might be getting tattooed with a infected rusty nail. Spears, who it appears is on the verge of a nervous breakdown, was clearly in no shape to receive a tattoo. Did that stop the gang at the Sherman Oaks tattoo shop?

Best quote of the story "Everyone at the tattoo parlor was shocked by Spears bizarre behavior," according to one, Emily Wynne-Hughes, an employee at Body & Soul.

Despite Spears' "screams" and "bizarre behavior" - quotes taken directly from Sherman Oak employees - the tattoo artist, Max Gott (and again, we use the term advisedly) tattooed her not once, but twice.

So the answer of course is NO. Some people will apparently do anything for money. Without a flicker of conscience it would appear.

The behavior of Spears is bordering on the tragic. The behavior of the gang at Body & Soul borders somewhere between criminally negligent and selling children for prostitution.

From PerezHilton.com

"She wasn't making sense at all and you could tell she's not in a good place at all, and that she is totally freaking out," reveals Emily Wynne-Hughes, an employee at Body & Soul, the Sherman Oaks tattoo parlor where Britney got a black-white-and-pink cross tattooed on her lower hip and red-and-pink lips on her wrist.

Hughes tells Us Weekly, "She was a nightmare to deal with. She was screaming and flipping out from the pain and wiggling her body all around."

At one point during Britney's one-hour visit, Hughes asked Britney why there was a pink stain on her fluffy white handbag and Britney said she had "spilled Nyquil all over it."

Spears is unravelling before our very eyes!

Earlier that night, Britney brazenly shaved off all her hair.

When asked why she shaved her head, Hughes says Britney replied, "I don't want anyone touching me. I'm tired of everybody touching me."

Everyone at the tattoo parlor was shocked by Spears bizarre behavior.

Hughes, who was appalled and concerned by what she saw, adds, "After she left the shop we all just looked around and said to each other, 'We just saw a huge celebrity on the verge of a nervous breakdown.'"

Kind of makes you cringe...
